Conception Abbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1873 by monks from Engelberg Abbey in Switzerland. We strive to live out the Rule of St. Benedict in our lives of prayer and work so “that in all things, God may be glorified.”

Conception prepares candidates for the ordained ministry through spiritual, intellectual, pastoral, and human formation in the Benedictine tradition. Young men have the opportunity to explore the promise of God’s call to the priesthood.

Campaign Update

Humbled and inspired by generous support, Conception has announced that our signature phase has $600,000 left to “sign off” on the Brothers Living in Unity campaign.

Seminary Residence Hall

We envision a new space that will strengthen the bond of fraternity among our seminarians, a true hallmark of priestly formation at Conception Seminary College. The purpose of this project is to house all seminarians under one roof to strengthen our formation program.

Monastic Retirement

As monks age and no longer can work in our seminary and other ministries, they reside in the Infirmary where their primary apostolate is prayer. The Monastic Retirement Endowment covers the expenses of their care.
